What makes Oriza's rice water "fermented," and why does it matter?
Most rice water is just rice soaked in water. Ours is fermented (Saccharomyces / Rice Ferment Filtrate), which means beneficial cultures break the rice down over time. Fermentation lowers the pH closer to your hair's natural range and frees up the amino acids and inositol your strands can actually use, so it works with the cuticle instead of just sitting on top. That is the difference between a kitchen rinse and a finished product gentle enough for regular use.
Will rice water actually grow my hair?
The honest answer: rice water does not make hair grow faster from the root. What it does is help your hair hold on to the length you already grow, by strengthening the strand and reducing breakage. Less breakage means more length kept over time, which is why so many people see longer, fuller hair with consistent use. We would rather tell you the truth than overpromise.
How do I use the shampoo, and how often?
Massage a small amount into wet hair and scalp, work to a light lather, then rinse and repeat if you like. Follow with Oriza Conditioner. Two to three washes a week suits most people; fine or low-porosity hair may prefer less. A little fermented rice water goes a long way.

Rice water suits most hair types, with small adjustments. Fine and low-porosity hair should use it a little less often and rinse thoroughly, since too much protein can leave those types stiff. Curly, coily, damaged, and color-treated hair tend to love it and can use it more freely. If you are unsure, start once a week and see how your hair responds. Our fermented formula is gentler than DIY rice water, so it is more forgiving across types.
